For 14 years, Cheyenne Day of Giving has been supporting those in great need within our community.

2020 will be no exception!

Despite the unusual circumstances brought about by the spread of COVID-19, the 15th Annual Cheyenne Day of Giving scheduled for May 8th will go on almost as planned! Though we cannot come together in person this spring, area businesses, civic groups, congregations, and individuals can still contribute to our mission of helping local agencies support those in need.  Together, we can do this ONLINE!

Cheyenne Day of Giving acts as a dependable source of help for our local agencies when they cannot meet our community’s needs through their annual budget.  At the annual event this spring, we planned to help 17 area agencies through collections of food, hygiene items, and craft supplies as well as prescription eyeglasses, hearing aids, cell phones, leftover prescription medications, medical supplies, and durable medical equipment.  In addition, volunteers would have given blood or signed up to be organ/eye/tissue or bone marrow donors.

Whether we have an in-person event as in the past or this year’s virtual event, Cheyenne Day of Giving support goes on throughout the year!  We provide 11 agencies with ongoing support through purchases made to help them meet client needs for the 364 days between annual events.   Donations from this Virtual Day of Giving drive will help us bring immediate and increased assistance to our supported agencies that are now helping more clients than ever before.

While we follow safety and social distancing guidelines, please join us for our Virtual Cheyenne Day of Giving!  We are posting here a list of the 17 agencies we help at our annual event as well as contact information, top three or four needs, and website for each.  We will appreciate a cash donation of any size and will do the shopping for the items listed for those who would like to help but would rather not shop themselves. One hundred percent of every donation to Day of Giving will go toward purchasing the items listed for each agency.

To give, just use the Donate button on this website or visit our Facebook page @ Cheyenne Day of Giving and use the Donate button.  We also welcome donations mailed to Cheyenne Day of Giving at P O Box 192, Cheyenne, WY  82003. Please join us in making life a little better for those who are struggling every single day!

When is the Cheyenne Day of Giving?

The 15th Annual Cheyenne Day of Giving will be held on a to-be-determined date in 2020. While we hold our event annually, we assist our agencies by purchasing supplies for them throughout the year.

Black Hills Energy gave us a $1250 grant in both 2017 and 2018. Last year they invited the Executive Board to a check presentation for us. We had a chance to talk about Day of Giving with a wonderful group of employees, and they presented us with a ‘big check.’ It was a happy time and a big help to our year-round efforts to help eleven local agencies!
The Youth Group at First Presbyterian Church made Super Bowl Sunday a great day for Day of Giving!

After the service, they lined up outside the sanctuary with the sign in this picture and baskets labeled “Commercials,” Patriots,” and “Eagles.” Donors could vote for their favorite part/s of the Super Bowl based on where they donated their money. We don’t know for sure which basket had the most cash, but Day of Giving is grateful for the hundreds of dollars donated in that very happy 15 minutes after the service!

Thanks to the Youth Group and leader Matt Woodard for helping us with a donation that will go toward purchases to help neighbors in great financial need! It’s donations like this one that make our year-round work of helping 11 area agencies possible!

How can I give?
